My DIY Bazura Bag

Sometime last year, a mom of my son's classmate asked me if I knew anything about making a Bazura bag.  His older son had this project in school and had to make one out of foil packs.  She tried making one herself, but was clearly disappointed with the outcome.  It was also too late for me to help out as the deadline was already within that week.  After that incident I researched on the net if there are any tutorials out there in making a Bazura bag. I found a couple of them, but the blogsite called candywrapperpurse gave me a good step-by-step instructional in making a fashionable bag out of chips wrapper, laundry detergent sachets, foils packs and more.

Recycled Gift Wrapping

A few days ago I was tasked by my husband to wrap his gift for Monito-Monita (Kris-Kringle).  What was challenging about the gift wrapping part was that we have to recycle materials from trash and not use gift wrapping paper.  This is what my gift wrapping challenge turned out to be.

I used Robinson's paper bags that was just lying around, reversed it and applied some basic gift wrapping skills and origami for the the star.

I decided to braid the ribbon for this gift and attach a star to add some flair.  A gift does not have to look drab just because its wrapped with a plain paper bag.  Overall, I was impressed with my work, and hubby was too.

Christmas Decor from Scrap

My sister Jolene's class at Manila Science HS needs to decorate their classroom for Christmas this week and they need to make us of scrap materials or things that are normally thrown away already.  I can't resist opportunities like where I can express myself creatively.  Arts and crafts has always been a weakness, so I practically spent my entire afternoon yesterday researching for DIY Christmas decors, looking for materials and then getting into the actual work of putting the decor together.  Here is the outcome of our effort.

This snowman is made from a mineral water bottle, scrap fabric for the scarf, magazine pages for the hat and the white styrofoam filling borrowed from a beanbag.  The leaf embellishment is old stock scrapbooking material I had been keeping for ages.

This Christmas wreath is made from old magazine and hard cardboard, the ribbon is made from an old mesh sponge.
